5.

Rory  Gallagher – A Million Miles Away

Rory Gallagher started his career in the 1960’s with his band Taste. Since then his albums have sold millions world wide.

The Rolling Stones were rumoured to have wanted him to replace Mick Taylor and when Jimi Hendrix was asked how it felt to be the world’s greatest guitarist, he is reported to have said: ‘I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher’

This is the type of song that makes you want to grab a tent, a pair of walking boots and get away from civilization for the weekend.

4.

Sixto Rodriguez – Sugar Man

Rodriguez is an American singer from Detroit. His albums Cold Fact (1970) and Coming From Reality (1971) went unnoticed in his home country when released at the time. However he gained significant airplay in Australia, Botswana, New Zealand, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

In 2012 documentary ‘Searching For Sugarman’ was released which details the efforts of two South Africans that want to discover what happened to there favourite singer. The documentary is well worth a watch.

3.

Paulo Nutini – Iron Sky

Iron Sky was released by Paulo Nutini back in 2014, The song reached number 7 in the charts in Belgium but surprisingly only got to number 42 in the United Kingdom.

2.

Bob Crosby and The Bobcats – Way Back Home

This is an oldie but is well worth a listen whilst touring the scottish countryside. It was released back in June 1951 and still holds up today (atleast I think it does)
