Nestled on the north east coast of Scotland, Aberdeen is lovely coastal city, complete with its own harbour, beach and resident pod of dolphins. A diverse city with something for the whole family to enjoy, you could be shopping in the morning, strolling along the beach at lunchtime and visiting all the historic attractions in the afternoon. Aberdeen is also home to incredible architecture. No matter where you venture in the city you are bound to come across striking buildings and historic structures, all complete with intricate designs and detailing to admire. If you start up a chat with the locals, make sure you listen out for the warming tones of ‘Doric’ – the local Scots dialect you’ll hear in the streets.

ABERDEEN FOOTBALL CLUB

Aberdeen Football Club is a Scottish professional football club based in Aberdeen, Scotland. They compete in the Scottish Premiership and have never been relegated from the top division of the Scottish football league system since they were promoted in 1905, despite twice finishing within the relegation zone.

Aberdeen won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1983 and the European Super Cup in the same year, a Scottish record for European trophy wins. 

The European Cup Winners Cup was won by Aberdeen FC in an extra-time victory against Real MadridAlex Ferguson’s young side defeated the Spanish giants after a notable victory over FC Bayern Munich in the quarter-final. Having conquered the domestic game in Scotland, by defeating the European Cup holders Hamburger SV to win the 1983 European Super Cup, Aberdeen went on to become the only Scottish team to win two European trophies, a record which still stands today.

Just outside of the city you’ll find famous castles, coastal villages, Scotland’s famous ‘Whisky Country’ in Speyside and find quaint harbour villages such and Pennan and Crovie dotted along the Moray Coast.

Aberdeen has fantastic transport links with the rest of the UK and Europe. Whether flying into Aberdeen International Airport, taking the train passing some amazing scenery as you go, catching a ferry or driving, arriving here is easy!
